Step 1: Copy the Facebook link
Open Facebook, find the public reel, tap Share, and copy the URL.
Three easy steps to save public Facebook reels to your device.
Open Facebook, find the public reel, tap Share, and copy the URL.
Paste the copied URL into the downloader input box above and press the Download button.
Choose an available HD or SD option. Your browser downloads the file to its usual location.
This downloader needs the address of one specific Reel. A creator’s profile address points to their page, so it does not tell the tool which video to load. In Facebook, open the Reel itself, choose Share, then Copy Link.
Reel links often look like facebook.com/reel/…. Facebook may also create a short fb.watch/… link. Paste the full link, including https://, into the box above.
If Facebook gives you a post or share link instead, try opening it in your browser first. When the Reel opens, copy the address shown in the browser bar.
Before troubleshooting the downloader, open the link in a private or incognito browser window where you are not signed in to Facebook. If the Reel plays there, it is more likely to be publicly reachable. If Facebook asks you to log in, says the content is unavailable, or limits it to friends or a group, FBviddl cannot access it.
This check is a useful guide, not a guarantee: Facebook can change availability, and a public Reel may still fail if its link has changed or the source is temporarily unavailable.
On a phone, you may need to switch from the Facebook app to your browser to use the downloader. You do not need to enter or share your Facebook password.
When the Reel is available, the page may offer HD and SD downloads. Choose HD when you want more detail and have enough storage or bandwidth. Choose SD when a smaller file is more useful. The page only shows options returned for that Reel.
These labels describe the available source versions; they do not promise a particular resolution or file size. The downloader cannot restore detail lost in the original upload or Facebook’s video processing.
Your browser manages the download. Look in its download list or the device’s Downloads folder if the file does not appear on screen.
Use the symptom below to decide what to check first. Re-copying the link is useful when Facebook has changed or shortened the address.
| What you see | Likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| The link is rejected | The pasted text may be a profile name, incomplete link, or copied caption | Open the Reel itself and copy its link again. Paste the full web address beginning with https://. |
| Processing finishes with an error | The Reel may be private, deleted, region-limited, or unavailable to logged-out viewers | Test the link in a private browser window. If it does not play there, FBviddl cannot retrieve it. |
| The page keeps processing | The source or worker may be responding slowly | Check your connection, copy a fresh link, and try once more. If it continues, try again later or contact us. |
| The preview appears but no quality option does | No downloadable source was returned for that Reel | Retry with the Reel’s direct link. If the options still do not appear, this source is not currently available. |
| You selected Download but cannot find the file | The browser may have saved it without opening a new screen | Open the browser’s downloads list and check the device’s Downloads folder. Confirm that downloads are allowed for the browser. |
| The file is blurry or will not play | The source may be low quality or the download may have been interrupted | Try the other available quality or download again. A low-quality source cannot be made sharper by downloading it. |
This page is for publicly reachable Reels. For a standard video post, use the Facebook Video Downloader. Neither tool can retrieve content that requires a Facebook login, belongs to a private group, or has been removed.
FBviddl does not ask for Facebook credentials and does not bypass audience settings. If you own the Reel and need a copy, use the options available in your Facebook account. For details about submitted links and cookies, see the Privacy Policy.
A public link does not mean a video is free to reuse. Downloading a Reel does not transfer its copyright or grant permission to edit, repost, or use it commercially. Ask the creator before sharing or reusing their work, and follow Facebook’s terms.
FBviddl is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Facebook or Meta. For site questions, use the Contact page; for the conditions of use, read the Terms of Service.
Link requirements, quality options, downloads, and common errors.
Open the public Reel, copy its link using Facebook’s Share menu or your browser address bar, and paste the full link into the box above. Select Download, wait for the preview, then choose an available HD or SD option.
Paste the full link to one specific Reel. Facebook links may use a facebook.com Reel or post address, or a short fb.watch address. A profile link or a link to a page is not a direct link to a particular Reel. The Reel must also be publicly reachable.
Try opening the link in a private or incognito window where you are not signed in to Facebook. If it plays there, it is likely publicly viewable. If Facebook asks you to log in or says the Reel is unavailable, FBviddl cannot access it.
No. FBviddl only works with Reels that are publicly reachable without a Facebook login. It does not bypass privacy settings or access closed groups.
No. You only need a browser and the link to a public Reel. Do not enter your Facebook password on this page.
No. The page shows HD or SD only when that option is available for the Reel. Quality depends on the source Facebook provides, and downloading cannot restore detail lost through recording or compression.
Your browser chooses the download location. Check its downloads list or the device’s Downloads folder. On iPhone or iPad, also check Safari’s download button and the Files app.
Check that you copied the Reel itself, that the full link begins with https://, and that the Reel still plays in a logged-out browser. Private, deleted, changed, or temporarily unavailable Reels cannot be fetched. You can copy a fresh link and try once more.
A download does not give you rights to reuse the creator’s work. Get permission before reposting, editing, or using the Reel in a project, and follow the applicable platform terms.
